Austria Wine Regions Map - A Walk in the Vienna Woods

Tuesday July 22, 2008
austria mapThe first time I landed in Villach, Austria, I went to Postillion restaurant and tried a couple of Austria wines. Amazing. One could only come to the conclusion that there weren't enough of these beauties to go around, and thus the paucity of Austrian wines in the U.S. Yes, they were that good.

It's not just that the wines are good. They come from some of Austria's most beautiful landscapes. We have recommendations on where to go and what to do in Austrian wine country and the Vienna Woods: Austria Wine Regions Map and Tourism Information.

Free at Last! Free Things to Do in Europe

Monday July 21, 2008
Jacy Meyer of Europe String chimes in with a list of Free City Tours in some European capitals. Laura Porter gives us Free Things to Do in the City of London, Shannon McAlister adds Amsterdam for Free, and Damian Corrigan is often found lurking around tapas bars offering free eats, so he's qualified to write about Free Spain Stuff.

You already know the free stuff in Rome, don't you?

When budgeting your European vacation always remember that the best things in life are often free, like visiting an open air market, hiking the interesting countryside in a wine region, or finding a wad of Euros floating around in the pocket of an unsuspecting tourist and spending them on an overpriced meal in a restaurant. (Sorry, ed., I got carried away there.)

So, the moral of this story is: don't lose sleep over plans to pinch pennies--don't spend any at all!
