Sardinia - Costumes on Parade (9 pictures)
In the early 80's, you could still go to a Sardinian village where traditional costumes were worn for everyday use. Today they are still produced (but are quite expensive) to be worn during the many festivals and parades that occur all over the island. If you stay till the end of the slide show, you'll be treated to a photo of your guide in a typical costume worn in Sedilo, Sardinia.

The Val Camonica (10 pictures)
The largest concentration of petroglyphs in the world is found in this area; the glacier-scrubbed limestone makes a great canvas. The region is also a great place for mountain hikes. Make the town of Capo di Ponte your base and you can visit the rock carvings and take mountain hikes as well right from your hotel. pictures here are of typical petroglyphs and general scenery of the region.
